Mini Darc (Embedded System 2004)

An embedded system is any system that is used in a situation where its not directly involved in user interaction.  Examples of which could include surveillance devices (such as the miniDARC -Above), components of larger systems, embedded intelligence such as that found in car climate control, engine management and creature comfort systems.  The DARC project above, consists of a surveillance device that uses machine vision to detect user configurable events.  Its like a big brother device.  Its small design allows it to be hidden away.  The users doesn't even need to come back in order to retrieve the events.  It consists of an embedded processor board running Microsoft Windows XP embedded, and can be accessed by secure long-range wireless communications.

Other recent embedded systems I have developed include a speed sensitive automatic headlight levelling device for discharge headlight systems (to prevent blinding motorists), car interior lighting control system and an ultrasonic indoor positioning system.  Not forgetting the flagship x4 Wearable Computer System.
