Technical Difficulties

I'm interested in all aspects of technology and engineering.  If its a machine, I have to know how it works - taking anything for granted is not how I work. Whenever something new comes along, I'll probably have taken it apart before too long.  I will always turn my hand to mechanical engineering - the odd engine rebuild, wiring, re-spray or welding... but my real passion is in electronics and computer systems.  I like designing things, creating things and making all things technical. Its a passion that I sometimes worry is old fashioned with the next generation's imagination stuck within a tablet. See Project blog for more details: https://www.jcross.co.uk/projects/

Spend as much on 4 new cylinders for an aircraft as you do on a whole car and you want to ensure that they are running it correctly. This project logs what is happening.

Smart Kitchen

Smart fridges are so yesterday.. How about a smart cupboard? This android tablet gives top-class compatibility and provides TV. Music, recipes and information without getting in the way.

Smart Mirror

Based on a Raspberry PI an old mirror and a bit of DIY this project brings news, calendar and traffic reports to our hallway mirror.
